Breakfast for Weight Loss

December 10, 2012 by cassandra

Breakfast like a champ. Eating breakfast prevents “starvation eating” later in the day.

To function like a champ, include high-quality protein with your breakfast. Protein is a building block of cells throughout the body, and is needed for healthy muscles, skin and nails. Protein helps to build and repair bodily tissues and if you are working out intensely, you will need it to build strong muscles.

Often, people get in the habit of eating a quick breakfast, which usually means cereal, toast, bagel, or quick-oats. This carb-rich breakfast causes a surge in blood sugar followed by a mid-morning dip, which leads to cravings for more quick-carbs.

Instead, take the time to make a protein smoothie, or an omega-3 egg scramble with veggies. Your metabolism will appreciate the slow-burning fuel and your waistline will shrink as you skip the morning Starbucks run. Try it and post here about what you notice!

To your best health!
