Pre-biotic Foods Make Better Bacteria

September 30, 2013 by cassandra

Prebiotic foods (yes that says PRE biotic) are certain foods that contained fiberous substances that stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the colon,  promoting better overall health.

Along with probiotics, those 3-5 pounds of microbial organisms that live in your digestive tract, pre-biotics support gastrointestinal health.

Although they are also available in supplement form, there’s no need to take another supplement unless things are really out of balance! Prebiotics occur naturally in a number of common foods with high fiber content like onions,  asparagus, leeks and jicama.

Munch on these foods often to feed your friendly bacteria. You can’t live without ’em!
